Since a good buddy of mine spent some time in Sweden, I was always curious about checking it myself. We found some great tickets from Warsaw to Stockholm on Wizzair and decided to go for it. One word of caution however regarding the budget flights to Stockholm however...When we landed in "Stockholm" we grabbed tickets for a bus heading to downtown, which was were our hostel was located. After doing a few conversions in our heads, we were a bit surprised to discover that we had paid about $23 US for a one-way ticket. Once we were on the highway we discovered that the airport we flew into (called Skavsta) was actually about an hour and a half from downtown Stockholm. So, as it turned out, the round trip bus ride between the airport and downtown cost more than our plane tickets. Regardless, after some unintentional sight-seeing we made it to our hostel called City Backpackers which I would highly recommend. Stockholm was quite a change of pace from the cities we have visited in Poland thus far, as I would say it is much more "Western" whatever that means. We were very impressed with the number of people running around with smiles on their faces, particularly compared to Warsaw, and shocked at the number of shopping malls/plazas throughout the city. English was widely spoken in Stockholm, and people seemed quite concerned with their appearance when it comes to attire, accessories and vehicles. I must add that overall people were quite good-looking. As a result of this we immediately set out on a mission to find the most attractive girl in Stockholm. Take a look at the pictures and you will see that we made out quite well.
