The cycling is fantastic and the sights are wonderful on the road. We love passing the many water buffalo, the most important possessions of those who work the paddies. We visit the school that the profits from our trip are being used to support. The kids there are great. We get to go to a classroom and see some very young kids doing some very advanced math for their age. A new wing is being built onto the school that our contributions are helping to pay for. School is free for the kids but they must buy their own supplies. The kids cant afford the cost of the supplies and the parents are often reluctant to turn their kids over to go to school for a half day as the kids are often in charge of tending the water buffalo. But with the help of schools like this these kids are given a chance. We meet the school administrators and teachers and decide to take up an impromptu collection from our group of another $100 dollars that will buy supplies for the entire student body of 500 kids for a year.
