17th – Moving on again and we are now heading northwards, although just meandering as at the moment there is nothing of particular note to see apart from the scenary. We decided to stop for the night at a Copec garage(S38.56.15.79 W72.37.14.54)

18th – Today we had hoped to find a main road going NW but missed it and as a result decided to try one of the roads going west to see if we could link up. Although the road wa dirt it looked as if it was fine for the first 10 Kms and then we got into an area that had been intensively logged. The road was still fine and so we carried on for a while but eventually got to a point where we met a crew repairing a digger who told us we could not get out the way we were going. This meant we had to go back all the way we had come and so we stopped only a bit furthr north at an Esso station just past the town of Cajon.(S3.35.59.43 W72.28.23.09).

19th – This morning we did find the road we wanted and are driving through steep hills with lots and lots of trees. This whole area is used for logging, there are signs warning of logging trucks for the next 80 kms. We carried on until we got to a small village called Ramadillas where we saw people camping by the river. We turned off and tried to get into the campsite but they had low electric cables. Next to this though was the public area next to the river and it was here that we had seen the tents and so we went down and joined them(S37.18.23.88 W73.15.55.78). The tent sites are arranged all over the place and are a bit ramshackle because they set them up to suit themselves. This means that there is a collection of upto ten tents surrounded by an enclosure which also has an area for cooking and the table. This is all topped off with extra canvas or wooded shade covers. Some are even positioned right under the bridge to get the shade.

20th – A fairly good night, as always they stay up later than we do, but it was good enough that we shall stay another day.
