After a nice quite night it was time to get ready for the ferry. This arrived about 9.15 and we loaded about 30 minutes later and then sailed on time at 10. We did not realise until we set off that the trip was going to take about 90 minutes and all the way we were in the middle of the narrow lake, about 500 metres from he shore. This meant that even though it was cloudy and occasionally wet we had good views of the high hills each side of the lake. If it had been a nice day it would have been really nice to get on deck and admire the view. On arrival at Port Fuy we disembarked within 5 minutes and checked in at the tourist office to check on the roads. We were told that the way we were going they were busy widening the road and so it was a bit rough at times as they were blasting the road wider. We eventually got to a larger town and were able to shop in a supermarket to get the meat and vegtables that we needed and then carried on to the town of Los Lagos where we were able to find a nice campsite about 6 kms out of the town.(S220.127.116.11 W18.104.22.168) The camp is owned by a Swiss man who has livd here for 20 years and is very pleasant
th – Staying at the camp again for a few days. We had sunshine and showers for most of the day so did not do too much .
th – Still at the camp but the weather is nice and sunny today and so went for a walk along the river.
th – Another rainy day, we were going to go to town but postponed because it is so wet.
th – Overcast to start with but we still decided to go to town on the moped. It is quite a small place but has three large supermarkets and lots of smaller shops, with particularly good fruit and veg shops. We also managed to get on to the internet to catch up a little bit.
th – Another day at the camp.
