As we drove from our show in Hartford, CT to our day off in New Jersey, we stopped in Bridgeport, CT, for lunch. We pulled off the highway to go to Quiznos. This was downtown, so we circled the block until we found street parking. We plopped a view quarters in the meter, enjoyed our toasted subs, and came back to find that a man had pulled in behind us and was sitting on the curb trying to change his tire.

"Hey is there anything we can do for ya?"

"Got a couple hundred bucks?"

"Eh.. sorry... but can we lend you a hand?"

"Aw, no...you see here..." then he proceeded to explain the situation and show us his bad tire. His donut was already on another tire, so we was putting his bad tire back on to replace the worse one. Not ideal.

"You sure you don't want any help?"

"No, thanks though. I'm just pluggin' away. Pretty much a one man job from here on out."

"Alright then, good luck then."

We hopped back into our van, and looked down at our gift cards. I reached for the box. Kelsey: "You gonna give him a Subway card?"
"Yep."
"We're so on the same wavelength."

There was a Subway right across from Quiznos. It was a slam dunk.

I delivered our next gift card. "Hey man--when you're done with that, at least treat yourself to lunch."

"Oh, why thank you! I'll need it!"

"Have a good day."

"You too."
