Today was a double day--one school south of Hartford in the early morning (those 7:30 shows are rough!), and another school in the northeast corner of the state in the afternoon. Along our hour drive between schools, we had a wonderful time driving through the New England backroads and observing the fall foliage. It was peak season for northern Connecticut, and we saw some of the best foliage yet this season. It was nice to be up close and personal, as opposed to being on the highway viewing from a distance. We would have had pictures to post, but alas, we left our camera in New Hampshire this past weekend. That, along with my cell phone and glasses case... Hm. Take us out of our normal hotel-a-night routine, and we're a disheveled mess I guess!

This afternoon, we drove straight south to New London, CT. From our Radisson Hotel, we walked to Chaplin's, a local restaurant, for a seafood dinner. It's relatively new--it opened in the end of March 2010. Consequently, there were only three reviews on it, but they were all glowingly positive. And we must echo those reviews. The most notable praise was the price. All the dishes are several dollars lower than their counterparts at other fancy restaurants. The environment was classy but not too stuffy, and the waitstaff was friendly. We ordered crab bisque soup and split a seafood sampler before enjoying a Tollhouse Cookie Cake for dessert! All delicious.

So it was a very pleasant day in Connecticut! Tomorrow we're off to the Lake George area again. In fact, we'll be staying in the same hotel in Lake George Village that we did a few weeks ago. And you can guarantee we'll be eating barbeque at that same restaurant.

Til then!
