Well, on Friday evening, we found ourselves having made it full circle. Actually, it wasn't much of a circle. It was more of a tangled web of criss-crossing mis-shapen lines concentrated around two primary regions of the country that total in length of 33,000 miles. But... either way, we were back in Irwindale, California.

Our company was gracious enough to allow us to stay in their company-owned condominium as long as we needed. That gave us flexibility in booking plane tickets, but it also allowed us to stay and wait for our friends, the Wahlgrens, to return to California from their tour. So, we bought tickets for the 28th of the month--that's two whole weeks in one place! That would be the longest time to date that Kelsey and I have stayed in one place since we've been married!

We worked in the office on Friday, but after that, we were unemployed, with two weeks on our hands. So we made some calls to some friends from college who are now living in the LA area and made arrangements to see them that week.

But first, we went food shopping. And for the first time in nine months, we didn't have to buy the microwave pastas and canned goods! We went to town buying fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, bread, juices, ice cream--just like normal people!

The condo is normally inhabited by the local technicians throughout the year, but the way things worked out allowed us to have the place to ourselves for the first week. We rearranged (with our boss's permission) and straightened up our condo--it was obvious that a bunch of single people had been living there for a while. It needed a married couple's touch.

And that's our home! Fortunately, we could still drive our van, so we weren't completely stranded. Kelsey and I settled in and enjoyed a taste of what it's like to have a permanent address, if even for a short time (and come to think of it--we never did learn the address to that place....)
