Before we left Louisiana, Kelsey wished to see two things: 1) a Louisiana bayou boat tour, and 2) a plantation house manor. Well, one of them came true. On our way out of the state, we stopped to visit the Houmas House, a now-privately-owned plantation manor. It was bought for over $2 million, but the owner still opens it up for public tours. He has furnished and decorated it with an assortment of valuable antiques. It's not decorated to be period, exactly, but it was a very interesting tour. The owner is a single millionaire who, I believe, shares the home with his mother. We were even shown his bedroom--antique and antebellum in all respects, save his Dell laptop sitting on his desk, right next to a cigar case belonging to President Andrew Jackson.
Not much else to say. It was a beautiful house, and a really neat tour. Mostly, I just wanted to share our pictures with you. Enjoy!
