On our way out of Irving, en route to Stamford, we visited Putt Putt Fun Center. We found coupons in the hotel lobby and discovered that it would be right along our route. Perfect! We had some time to kill, so we made an afternoon of miniature gold and batting cages, each activity at half-off.
Since it was our first time in batting cages, we started off taking it easy. We did a few rounds of 35mph baseballs, then tried moving up to 45mph. Kelsey was making solid contact with them. I whiffed 17 of 18... so... I was humbled. But I won golf. So we're even.
Hah, but no--we had a lot of fun. We enjoyed being outside on a beautifully warm Texan winter day.
We took lots of pictures, and they're attached. Enjoy! :)
That night, we searched Abilene for our hotel and for a good place to eat. In continuance with our New Year's Resolution, we found a local place with some home-cooked barbeque. Harold's Pit BBQ may not look like much, but man--as soon as you step in the door and smell the cookin', you know you're in good hands.
Our hotel wasn't much. But after five nights of not being able to play with our Wii, we wanted to hook it up and play a little before retiring for the night. But alas, the TV had no inputs. Bummer.
But, we remembered a tip that our boss told us, and we brought in one of our projectors and projected our game on our hotel wall. Pictures attached.
