We had a double day today--one show in Stamford, and another in their rival school in Haskell.

In the morning at Stamford, we arrived at the same time as another school staff member driving a huge white pickup truck. Nothing new. But then out came this little old woman. Hah! Everything's bigger in Texas. Maybe not the people, but the surprises.

We had a heck of a time finding our second school in Haskell. Hah--Haskell High School, in fact. Say it out loud. It's fun. Now saying it in a Texan accent. Even more fun. TomTom and Google both agreed that we would take Route 277 right into town. But in real life, you have to turn off 277 onto Business 277 which goes into town. Otherwise, you're stuck on the highway bypassing the entire town. Thankfully, we adjusted to the confusion, we were confused for quite some time after that.

Anyway, en route to Haskell, in the town of Anson, we had a weird deja vu... We were driving down the straight road, with buildings on both sides, and we both felt like we were driving down that street in Back to the Future, with the clocktower at the end of the road. We took a picture of the seemingly uncanny resemblance. Upon later research, I guess it doesn't look exactly like the movie, but still.. can't you kinda see it?

Attached is a picture of the clocktower building from a different angle. Nice little town.

Schools went well. We interacted with some more very nice Texan folks. Very helpful, very obliging and hospitable. Maybe I'll take some time soon to reflect more on the Texan culture. But for now, I need to keep Travelpodding. So, while I do that, you can view some nice pictures of the Texan skies.
