Cold and dark in the morning. The sun doesn't rise out here until about 7:30, and even then, it's not really in the sky until about 10:00.

But once it starts beating on the ground a bit, the weather turns quite pleasant. Now, the locals still think it's freezing. And granted, it's maybe 50 degrees. With a wind, it's legitimately chilly. But it's JANUARY. And the fact that Kelsey and I can walk to the door from the van without a scarf, gloves, and a vein popping out of our foreheads is oh so welcomed.

It's sunny. I think Kelsey mentioned that in her opening entry. But really--it's sunny every day. It might not be sunny -all- day, but every day has at least a sunny stretch. And it makes the day happier.

I'm fixin' to box some up and send it to y'all.
