For church this morning, we attended The Bridge, a little contemporary church a few miles from our motel. We've attended so many traditional services in our travels lately, it was nice to be a little more contemporary. There weren't many people attending--maybe 30?--so we were easily recognizable as guests. But as always, the congregation was very welcoming.

The sermon was about being yoked. It was a very thorough discussion about the idea, actually. Concepts included being equally yoked (not just in marriage, but in all relationships) so as to avoid struggling and pulling in conflicting directions, the consequences of being yoked to worldly distractions, and the ease of being yoked to Christ. Some interesting things.

Anyway, also, the church was promoting a blood drive tonight. A blood donation agency would be in the parking lot accepting donors. So, with some initial reluctance, Kelsey and I signed up for an evening slot. Neither of us had given blood before, so we were a little nervous. But Kelsey wanted to give blood, ever since being inspired to do so through some episode of Extreme Home Makeover. And it's been something that I've wanted to do before I die. There's no good non-medical reason not to, right?

So sure enough, we showed up later in the evening to donate our blood! We went through all the paperwork, and donated simultaneously. It was actually kinda fun! I sipped two cans of Sprite and ate a few cookies while I saved a life.

We felt a little light-headed and very fulfilled :)

Well, tomorrow's our day off! We'll sleep in a little bit and head to New York (yikes, that could be crazy)

g'night!
