Where I stayed
Somehere we can't remember the name of ...
Colonia del Sacramento is a historic town and so in many aspects bears resemblance to Paraty - a town we seem to be missing a blog entry for! We only stayed a night so nothing particularly epic happened other than the storm that erupted just as we finished our evening meal. We had to run through rain all the way back to our hotel - actually 'rain' is probably a bit of an understatement - think Noah and animals going in 2 by 2 - except we didn't have a boat or animals. Oh yeah - there was also the epic icecream, its epicness not being derived from its size (it was a small portion) but from its extreme deliciousness. Gem described it as the best icecream she'd had on our trip. This made me feel better about missing the icecream on Ilha Grande (I'd been a bit off-colour at icecream time). Icecream is becoming a running theme for us in South America which is no bad thing. The other thing of note in Colonia was the scooters, and buggies for hire. We didn't actually hire one but lots of people did - and no-one wore helmets - outrageous!
Anyway - thatīs all for now. Next stop Buenos Aires. See you there ...
