Just a short note to let you know things are so hot here that shoes melt if you leave them in the sun. Water bottles go all floppy as the sun heats them and they end up being too hot to pickup if you don't tuck them away.
I am borrowing the tour leaders laptop as we are floating down the nile and we have a Mobile link. We get off this hell boat in a few days and then off to Jordan, hopefully I will be able to update the posts on Cairo and this trip then.
Do not come to Egypt at anytime outside of their winter. It is so hot clothes dry in 15 minutes. Even warm water tastes really good when you are buried inside a Valley of the Kings tomb with 99 % humidity and around 40 degrees of heat.
Yesterdays flight in a ballon over Luxor was stunning. Definately the highlight of the trip, photos to come when I can get access again. Valley of the Kings was a disappointment, apart from the $10 NZD iceblocks. Its not cheap here. Similiar to Rome.
Not really enjoying this part of the trip at all. The people on the boat are good, the boat sucks, and the tour guide ( a great guy) is continually fighting with the miserable boat owner just to get him to do what he is supposed to do.
Stick to big companies and big boats for this trip. The climate is truly alien. The temples look like something out of a TV show or movie they are so huge, It is hard to get your head around what they did. Roman and Greek temples are much more human in scale.
I am convinced the Pharoahs are aliens, they have funny elongated heads and I have photos of at least three spaceships in the carvings on the wall. Plus I read it on the net so it must be true!
Let this trip end. Tomorrow is a camel ride in the desert, oh yeah. Then a swim in the Nile. Oh Yeah, (you have not seen what I have floating down it.) Then we get to go to a nubian village in 46 degrees, Oh Yeah mudhuts, bring it on.
Egypt is a big tourist wallet eating machine. This place is simply somewhere you endure, tick the box and vow to not return. Other than that the people are after every dollar but they are funny and appreciate a joke so its not all bad.

Caller come in! Its sister sue
Hi Fi and Mikey Mike. Can't imagine what its like to be in such extreme heat! Temperature is just starting to turn here and I tested out the new fires in the house just last night! Thats the closest thing I'll get to your experience at any rate!
Seen any creepy crawleys in your travels - aside from spitting camels and the odd donkey? Any poisonous snakes spiders or man eating things? OOOO scary! All I've had lately is an influx (and I am not having you on) of mice. It is so bad. I have been catching one in the trap every night - you know mum, dad, aunty, cousins etc. Its disgusting. I just caught one staring at me in the middle of the hallway which I think must be sick because I managed to put icecream container on top of it. will revisit in due course!
Hope you guys are just having the best time. Look forward to your many more adventure stories. Its like reading a famous five novel - takes me back! Except you're the famous 2. FAMOUS 2 on the river nile! O yeah. Cya. Sister Sue.
