Kimba Caravan Park

Monday morning came and it was time to leave the Yorke Peninsula so we packed up our caravan and headed up the bumpy sealed road. We passed through Moonta, Kadina, Wallaroo, Port Broughton and stopped for a rest break just outside Port Pirie. Our journey then took us through more agriculture areas and rural towns, with their many old stone cottages, to Port Augusta. As it was still early in the day and being eager to get back across the Nullarbor, we decided that we would push on and and spend the night at Kimba, home to the Big Galah and the centre of the SA Agriculture region. The caravan park is very basic but comfortable enough for an overnight stop. After the long drive it was good to stretch our legs and walk around the small town especially the back streets which we hadn't seen on our previous stop when all we wanted to do was take photos of the Galah and the "Half-Way-Across-Australia' sign.  Adjacent to the park is a very nice restaurant where we decided we would have dinner. Swapping stories with other travellers made the evening pass quickly  We were up bright and early the next morning and had a quick breakfast before heading off to Ceduna.
