Our next overnight stop was at Cue, a once thriving gold town but those days are well and truly over, and all we saw were a few impressive buildings built in the late 1800s and a bored policeman standing on the outskirts of town with a speed-gun! The caravan park was dusty, cramped and old with the showers and toilets stained by the iron in the water which was a bit uninviting. On booking in the manager asked us how long we intended to stay though we couldn't understand why anyone would want to spend more than one night there. Later we met one lady who was staying for three months, fossicking in the surrounding old mining area with a few other hardy folk hoping to strike it rich. With not much to keep us there, we headed off first thing in the morning as soon as we had packed the van. Next stop Capricorn Roadhouse.
