I have quickly realized that so much can change your trip by making one or two desicions. The places you go, when you go and of course what hostel you stay at. Some cities have festivals going on, some have free concerts, and if you are lucky you can sometimes hit a good beer festival. In Cesky Krumlov I hit the most incredible hostel so far on my trip. Booked so randomly on the internet I made my way to the little hostel named The Krumlov House.

A hostel can make or beak your stay in some cities. The big cities like London, Berlin, Paris ect are pretty easy. If you have a crappy hostel, there is so much to do in the city that you don't have to focus on hanging around your bed. In the small cities sometimes there just isn't enough to do so you end up hanging around and socializing way more.

I had booked into Krumlov house for 3 days and was pretty happy to hang out there, recharge from Prague and contimue on my way. The hostel was the smallest I had stayed in to date. Holding a maximum of 25-30 people you were bound to know everyones name by the end of your stay. I was greeted my Anthony and Tamara, the managers running the hostel for the last 4 weeks. 2 Australians traveling and working, making their way through Europe. Within about 2 hours we were already getting to know each other and they invited me out for a bite to eat. Sharing stories , helping me with my next destination and just chillin out.

The next morning I woke up and decided that my frist day was going to be climbing the tallest hill in Cesky Krumlov. It took me about 3 hours to get the motivation up but I decided to put on the shoes and head for the hill. Lucky for me another Australian, Josie, wanted to go for the same walk so I had some company for the 6 hour tour. We hulled up the side of the mountain and headed back. It was pretty underwhelming when we got to the top but it still felt like we accomplished something instead of just hanging around.

That night, a big group of use decided to go out and eat. I try and only eat out 2-3 nights a week and cook the rest but Anthony and Tam told me of these incredible resaurtants to hit. He headed back out for the second night in a row and dined at this incredible vegitarian restaurant. By this time most of the hostel had joined us, and we were all started to bond.

The next day being my last day I thought I would take in one of the only attractions that Cesky Krumlov was known for, the Castle. I took a walk up the hill and immedialtey gazed upon three of the sadest looking bears I had ever seen. Enclosed in this little pen pacing back and forth. I was immediatly turned off by this and decided to boy cot the castel's entry free. I took in the Gardens and grounds but stayed clear of the castle walls.

I headed back to the hostel and Tamara came up with the idea of having a Bon Fire in the back yard of the hostel. We huddled around the fire about 8:00pm and I was getting to the point where I wan't ready to leave. I decided then that I would go and make some phone calls and see if I could change my arrangements. It wasn't a problem so I booked in for another night at Krumlov House.

The next moring I woke up and Anothony and Tamara weren't that busy so I just hung around the hostel, gave them a bit of hand with cleaning and we sat and chatted for the entire afternoon. These guys were turing into really incredible friends. By that afternoon, Tamara had convinced me to change my arrangments again and stay another night. DONE. I figured I had found a place that I was really comfortable with and really having a great time so I thought why leave.

The next day was pretty much a repeat of the day prior, a walk into town and great conversation and the day was killed almost too quickly. We had made reservations to busiest restaurant in town. We had tried to get in the last two nights with no success so I thought I would make some reservations. It was my last night after all and I thought a good meal would be a great way to end it. There was about 10 of us at the reastaurant. I can't tell you what the name of the place was called but its nickname was THE MEATY PLACE!!!! Pretty much all they served was meat. I had the Mixed Grill Plate, Turkey, Beef, Pork, Sausage, Baked Potatoe, and Potatoe Cakes. There was a salad too, who comes to the MEATY PLACE to eat salad.

By the end of the meal Anthony and Tamara were working on me to spend one final night. I have to admit, I argued with them a bit saying that I had to move one eventually. Tam was pretty persistant so I decided to change everythng for the 3rd day in a row and chill out for one more night.

When I got up the next moring I decided I still wasn't ready to leave. Evey day Anothony and Tamara had to convince to to stay, this time I was asking them if they had room for one more night. They just laughed, I thought I would just round it off to a solid week and then move on. We had dinner out for the 5th time that week, pizza which was better then any pizza those two had ever had in Italy. I was a little irritated that they were bursting my Italian bubble but I do have to admit it was damn good pizza. That night we had figured out that we were all headed to Croatia within about a week or so. It only took about a minute to decided to hook up and travel the country together. It was nice to know that I was going to see a country that I was really looking forward to with people that I know I can have a ton of fun with.

The next moring I was off to Salzburg and I was not going to spend one more night here. We said out good byes and I was off. Over all, great memories, great food, and better friends. I was on a train about to enter the city that I was in 10 years ago and wondering if the memories would come flooding back.........................
