Phonsavan is a weird city, kind of frontier style. You expect the tumble weeds to roll accross the straight and deserted main and only street. That boring , brand new city (only 20 years old) offers a stark contrast with the stunning surrounding countryside of verdant pastures extending over infinite rolling hills.
Who would guess that this Irish style, picture perfect region remains to this day the most heavily bombed area in the world ?
Who knew, first of all, that Lao was at war at all ?
With whom ? When ? Never heard of it ?
It's cause it was a SECRET WAR. Thailand, Vietnam, China, the US were involved in it, but officially there was no conflict, no foreign troops on the Lao territory, no casualties, simply nothing out of the ordinary...
