Laura had a day off work today so we decided on a day trip to Hocking Hills, a large area of Historic Sites, Nature Reserves and National Parks. After visiting the Visitor's Center at Logan we headed off to Rock House, a cave 150 feet up a sandstone cliff. Outstandingly beautiful area and the cave was a fascinating place to explore. From here we drove off to Ash Cave. An easy walk down the wheelchair accessible route led us to a vast, natural recess 700 feet across with a 100 feet deep overhang from which a waterfall falls 90 feet. It should apparently cascade but it appears to have been somewhat dry around these parts of late. Just to complete the 'getting back to nature' feel of the place, over to one side a 'shamen-esque' character did his thing with various Native American instruments/chants. There was a distinctly eerie but wonderful feel about the place.
On the way back we stopped (after getting a bit lost) at a Mexican restaurant, "El Vaquero". The Vegitariana Burrito Grande jumped out of the menu and did the trick perfectly.
