Our adventure began at 2:30PM when Grammie and Pop picked us up for the 1 hour drive to Dulles airport. 6 people in one station wagon with a bad muffler. Pop sang, Grammie sang, the girls chatted and Mike and I tried to follow the GPS without getting lost. (Oh and yes Dad, Georgia Avenue does come all the way out to Route 70.) We arrived at the KLM desk and were pleased that the line was short. Unfortunately, there was a problem with Mike's ticket and we proceeded to stand at the counter for over an hour while supervisor after supervisor looked at the computer screen with bewilderment. Finally they issued a paper ticket and we went running to security only to find huge lines with no help in sight. Luckily a really nice funny women from TSA took pity on the poor Perlines and took us through employee security. She said to put on our blog that "the TSA is great" so here it is. We made it to the flight and were thrilled to have exit row seating. We all read, watched videos and slept. 7 hours later we arrived in Amsterdam.....
