Where I stayed
Willkommen in Madrid... oops, Bienvenidos a Madrid
So we know that our next stop was supposed to be Sevilla, however, we do not think that anyone would blame us for foregoing the 8 hour bus ride, only mode of transport from Lisboa to Sevilla, and deciding to leisurely take a 1 hour plane ride to Madrid instead. So here we land, and let the festivities of San Isidro, patron saint to Madrid, begin. Its only logical, we begin with the pope and end with a festival to a patron Saint. And no, this was not planned, we just have angels on our shoulders... if either one of us believes in that...
Madrid is much more cosmopolitan than Lisbon..
Our eyes were strained with the amount of architecture and detailed beauty this city has to offer. And by the way, it was Michael who pointed out the beautiful details on the buildings.
The people are relaxed and always ready for a good convo and a good time, no matter the day, Friday, Sunday, Monday... although a very friendly city, gals be aware of your bags at all times. We have not had any trouble, but you notice everyone holding to their bags tightly here. Not so different from NY.
We are now heading off to dinner and then Sevilla in the morning before we head back to Madrid at the end of the week, drop off Mikey for the bachelor party and Caroline heads to Prague... yes, poor Caroline who has to leave her beloved for Prague.
We leave you with pictures and a video of the traditional dance for San Isidro to be even more jealous than you were once before.
We miss you all.... still not so much.
