Started the day off with an all you can eat breaky in the restaurant downstairs. It was 3.70 Euro each and included breads, meats, cheeses, cereal, tomoatoe, cucmber, spreads, juice, coffee and tea. Was yum and well worth the price.

Decided to take a free walking tour of the city today. One of the guides came and picked us up at our hostel and then we got the metro to the meeting point at the Brandenburg Gate. When were got there there was so many people there. It seemed to be a very popular tour. We all got given a number and then got split into groups of about 25 and given a guide. Our guide was great fun. It is unbeleiveable the amount of information he knew. He was American and has lived in Europe for 3 years working for this tour company doing these tours all over Europe.

We saw pretty much all important sights in the next 4 hours. Including the Brandenburg Gate which is huge and grand, Unter den Linden the main street lined with trees which is beautiful, Reishtag which is a glass domed government building, we walked over Hitlers bunker, saw a stretch of the wall that still stands, SS headquarters which is the only nazi building still standing, Checkpoint Charlie which was a dissapointment, a few pretty squares with grand buildings around them, Museum Islands and the Berliner Dome. It was a great tour and very informative but fun at the same time.

The tour finished up about 3pm on the Museum island so we decided to go to the Pergamon Museum to see the Pergamon Alter and the Ishta Gates. The Pergamon Alter was very impressive. We took heaps of photos but they don't seem to have done it any justice. The whole museum was fantastic.

We headed back to the hostel after that as Mick wasn't feeling so good. We had a rest for a while and then cos Mick was still feeling bad we jusgt went downstairs to the restaurant and had dinner and an early night.
