First full day of sight seeing today. We are both exhausted now but it was such a fantastic day.

Made use of the kitchen in our Hostel this morning and got a loaf of bread and had toast for breakfast. the bread here is really small, 2 pieces is about the equivalent of 1 of ours. Taste the same though.

Walked to Red Square again this morning. Then made the long walk all around the outside of the Kremlin Walls which took about an hour. The views were great of the Moscow river and some of the other Cathedrals further out of Moscow from the Kremlin Embankment along the southern walls of the kremlin.

Next we went into the Kremlin. Inside is Palaces, Cathedrals and Museums. We spent the next 2 hours wandering around looking at and in the various cathedrals with their gold and silver domes and pristine white walls. Inside (we were not allowed to take photos inside) all walls were covered in either paintings or dripping in gold and jewels. It is so over the top tackie and beautiful all at the same time. The Palaces and other buildings are keep in immaculate condition and each is painted in a different pastel colour with white trimmings.

After all the walking in the morning we were stuffed so we found  food court not far from the Kremlin and attempted to order some food. We ended up with Beef Lasage ( avereage), wedges (spicy but yum) and a greek salad which was real god cos we haven't had anything fresh since we left home.

;In the afternoon we went to the Armoury in the Kremlin. It is pretty much just a museum display of antiques from Russian history from 1000's of year ago. There was candle holders, dinnerware, jewel encrusted books, cups, plates, weapons from swords to knives covered in jewels, armour, clothing and the most impressive I think is the room filled with carriages, some dating back 8 thousand years. The inside of the Kremlin building itself is I think the most impressive part. The ceilings are huges with domed roofs and floor to ceiling windows with heavy velvet curtains, each room having at differnt colour sceme.

Managed to figure out the Metro system this afternoon which was lucky cos our feet were so sore we couldn't walk back to the Hostel.

Went to the supermarket tonight and got ourselves some Dolmio pasta sauce and some pasta and cooked that up in the kitchen here for dinner. The food in the supermarker here is so cheap. For just under $20 Australian dollars we got ourselves a big bag of pasta (enought for a few nights), a jar of pasta sauce, 2 soft drinks, 2 small tins of pringles chips and a 6 pack of choc chip muffins. Amazing value.

Hey guys, great to see your little faces in the photos. The photos of Red Square are fantastic. Every building looks immaculate. I assume the weather was a bit better today. The internet weather for Moscow showed it was supposed to clear up. The food overseas is always a bit strange, even Maccas tastes different in every country. You're both going to be fit after all the walking.

We are both well, plus it's Saturday morning, so no work. Tezzie's been up since the crack of dawn making Monte Carlo biscuits. We gave her a cookbook for her birthday.

Have a great day today (your Saturday) and Mum and I will ring you on Sunday morning your time.

Have fun, Mum and Dad.

The photos look great. You look so tiny with the kremlin wall behind you Jen. It's amazing how well kept all the palaces and buildings are. It looks like the weather has cleared up for you now. Nice blue skies - that should make a big difference for you both. Glad you worked out the metro. That will make it easier for you to get around more. Keep having fun.

Hi Guys,

Sounds like your having a lovely time!! The photos look amazing. St Basel's is very cute. I didn't realise you had any photos until Mum pointed it out. I can't believe she figured it out and I didn't!

Have just dropped some freshly baked Monte Carlo's off at Mum and Dads and am now off to brunch and sewing at Biancas! The astra is going well. Me and Graham have convinced William that I have just bought the car second hand and I own it. We are going to see if we can keep it up for the whole time your gone.

Have been thinking of you both. Hope your having a great time! Keep updating!
