The Bright Lights of Vegas!!

. The Stratosphere is quite cool though, but after that there are only really strip joints and wedding chapels. We found an all you can eat pizza, pasta and salad place for $5.99 so we had tea there and walked a bit further down before crossing over and doing the other side. We then had a beer and a little go on the slots but went to bed before we spent too much!! The pool was pretty quiet the next day and when we got down there we realised why, the temperature had dropped quite a bit so it was quite cold but when the wind dropped it was still quite nice. It was also nice to do some swimming in a proper sized pool. We popped over to McDonalds and met two crazy lads who borrowed our laptop to book some stuff. They were spending money like water, it was quite fun watching them do it when we are at the point where every penny counts. By the time we finished it was time to get a shower and go out. We decided to go south tonight so we saw the Bellagio and Caesar’s Palace and all the big hotels you hear about. Some of them were nice but then some of them were sooooo tacky but then I suppose that’s the fun of Vegas!! We grabbed a Panda Express for dinner which was quite nice Chinese food for not bad money. We then crossed over and did the other side of the strip. The next day we decided we should really get organised and so we booked the Grand Canyon trip. We actually got a good deal as we got the trip for the two of us with breakfast and lunch included for $154. Because of the early pick up we had an early dinner, then got packed up and had an early night.
On Monday we got packed up and after a hot shower and breakfast we skyped home before getting our shuttle to Vegas at about 3.00. We were going to hire a car but as we wanted to take it to another state and drop it off there, the one way fee was between $200 and $300 so paying $90 for a shuttle, door to door, for the 2 of us seemed a bargain!! By the time we spotted the bright lights of Vegas it was about 8.00 and we finally dropped off at the Riviera Hotel and Casino at about 8.30. We got checked in and went up to the room where I had a nice hot bath. Sooooooooo nice to have a bit of luxury. We then went downstairs for a beer before a bit of a look around before bed. The next day we had a nice day down by the pool as the weather was a little cool but nice and sunny so we chilled out there before getting ready and going out to the strip. We decided to do the North end as there wasn't much there and we were planning to stay further up on the strip next week so we mooched down the road to see what was there. That is definitely the scuttier end of the strip with a lot of empty plots and hotels under refurbishment
