Ola mes Amigos,

WeŽve put down a VERY tough few days.
We ended up having to stay in Mexico City for an extra few days as Sarah got sick.

But all was ok by last Sunday, on which we got the bus down to Acapulco, to go a bit Loco! ya right!

From the moment we arrived in Acapulco the skies continuosly emptied on top of us. We got to the bus station, caught a local bus into the centre and then had to wander around in the pissing rain and find ourselves some accommodation. Which we did, eventually, in a place called Hotel Asturias, at a cost of 200 pesos. The place was recommended by the Holy Planet guide book, and to be brutally honest it was a big let down. We just dropped our bags and went out for a look around the infamed Acapulco. The place was flooded! Water EVERYWHERE!

We had a bite to eat and a few beers before going on a hunt to find a different place to stay for the next night. After a bit of wandering we found a place that will do the job for a night, up on top of the hill near the famous cliff divers.

The next day was spent doing nothing, it was absolutely piddling from the heavens.
We decided to get the flock out of the place the next day.
Booked our tickets to Puerto Escondido, cost was 227 pesos.

Right aligned photo tag:

We made our way up to La Quebrada to see the cliff divers. Just as we entered the place, didnŽt it start to lash down on top of us again.... SOAKED!!!
But this did not take from an amazing show! Never seen anything like it. There are some madmen on this planet, and these guys are right up there with the best of them.
They basically, stand atop a cliff, approx and dive into a area of about 3 metres wide with jagged rocks all around. Nutz!!!

To be honest, these guys are the only reason to visit Acapulco!

Our nights sleep was horrendous, from the insane music being played out loud to the numerous dogs barking at the insane music, it was mayhem until 4am. To top it off Mike woke up with 6 mozzie bites on his left ankle.... itchy itchy, scratchy scratchy.

We left Acapulco at 7am! As we were boarding the bus we found out that the road half way was cut off, and that weŽd have to take a detour! Instead of a 7hr journey to Puerto Escondido, a 10hr journey.... painful!!!

WeŽll give ye an update on the Surf Town of Puerto Escondido as soon as we figure it all out.
