I decided to stop off at Byron Bay on the way up to Brisbane, as it would be a nice contrast to the hustle & bustle of Perth (to a degree), and Sydney (which really can be a bit frenetic). Byron Bay is all about beaches, walking trails, and a fair bit of Bohemia thrown in too - there's plenty of new age cafes to get your organic coffee from.

Highlights here have to be sitting by the beach as the sun goes down, watching dolphins from the coastal path up past mainland Australia's most easterly point, and carrying on up to Australia's most easterly building, Byron Bay lighthouse. Oh, and the organic coffee was pretty good too!
