Again, a picture perfect blue sky day. We started off by driving back to Capitol Reef National Park and driving the scenic loop drive through the gorge.  We don't have enough of these red rocks yet. We feel small like ants as we drive through the gorge with its huge red walls towering above us. We take our time and make lasting impressions.

The entire trip to along highway 12 through Boulder and Escalante to Bryce Canyon is again through spectacular scenery. Over snow and pine-tree covered mountains, past and over plateaus, deep canyons and frozen rivers.

None of the small towns we passed had even a hole-in-the-wall where we could stop for simple lunch (it's Sunday). At 5 PM, we arrived at Bryce, checked into the brand new Best Western Bryce Canyon Grand Hotel which is across the street from Ruby's Inn where we had stayed before. Unlike the Ruby's, the new Best Western includes a pretty decent hot breakfast which was the clincher for us. Due to the season, all stay in the main lodge which is beautiful. There are other detached motel like buildings which will be used in busy season.  We decided to stay 2 nights.

We headed to Ruby's, the only restaurant within 25 miles, for  fabulous dinner.
