In the morning we wandered the streets of the French Quarter and took pictures of the buildings, street entertainers, etc. It was around 11 before any of the area woke. We left the city via the back road along the Mississippi and saw new construction (new since the flood) commingled among old. Water was pretty high in some areas and flooding streets.

We continued up a similar route we had taken during our Natches Trace bike tour until Connelsville. We paused at an interesting above ground grave yard and lunched at a funky diner. Best seafood gumbo on the planet!
