I spent 9 hours hiking around and just touched the tip of the iceberg.
As they say, the early bird gets the worm and getting to the Petra gate just after 6am was amazing because no one was there. I met a local man by the name of Faleh who took me around and told me about the history of Petra. The Nabatean people came to Jordan 2200 years ago and these ruins are the results of their labor. I didn't realize I would also be seeing Roman ruins - but of course the Romans came here!
