The day started as all our Bali days started with breakfast by the pool. After enjoying a chat we headed of with Tomy for another day exploring beautiful Bali.

After about half an hour n the car we came to our first stop, Goa Gajah the Elephant Cave. This is a beautifully ornately carved cave which was a monastery and temple dating back to the 11th century. There are the ruins of the monastery which was destroyed in an earthquake in the early 20th century. The are also some amazing baths which worshipers used to wash themselves before praying which have been restored. Below the temple are a waterfall and a Buddhist shrine. Due to the numerous steps I decided to stay up the top and enjoy the quiet listening to the water and relaxing...Ron descended down with Tomy and was blessed at the shrine'.

Back to the car and we were on our way to stop 2 which was Yeh Pulu This are some14th century  carvings done in a cliff showing some historic scenes of Balinese history. It was beautiful meandering through the farmland to find the carvings and an ancient Balinese couple who were at the shrine waiting to bless visitors for a price of course :-) After spending some time pottering around the area we headed back to get a cold drink from a warung set in the middle of the rice paddies. I could have stayed there for hours it was is peaceful with the occasional chook clucking and some ducks quaking away.

We then headed to the Bali Safari Park to see a show called Bali Agung. Before this our ticket included a safari ride so we went off in a little bus to see ail the animals, it was nothing fantastic and probably wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't included. Tomy had asked to come in but they had said the show was booked out ( which it was not ) however a man came along and he was giving some tickets away so we managed to get one for Tomy so with 30 minutes till showtime Ron took off to find him out the front. they managed to get back with time to spare and we found plenty of spare seats so were moved across to the cent re. It was hard not to compare it to Sarin Nirmit in Bangkok as the stages were almost a perfect replica. However the show was amazing they had a wide variety of animals and the most spectacular costumes. The show was the story of the beginning a Bali and was well put together and well worth checking out if you are ever in the area.

From here it was home to relax by the pool for an hour or so before heading down to Kesumas for our last dinner in Bali :-( not sure where the time has gone but time to go home tomorrow. '
