After no sleep last night we were up at 5 am and on the bus heading to the airport in Edinburgh for our flight to Dublin. After all the stuff I had read I was quite dubious of flying Ryanair but it was fine. They didn;t check our bags or weight them, there is no seat allocation you just all line up and file on like you are on a bus. The flight itself is like being in a shopping centre, in a 50 minute flight they sold food, duty free, gifts then scratchies to win holidays it was funny as the stewardesses were marching up and down but at 8am they didn't get many takers.

We then lined up for almost the length of our flight to ge tour hire care, who would have thought every other company was empty but a huge line at the one we had. Courtesy bus to what seemed like the other end of Dublin then into our little Fiat Puno and off to Belfast.

We had a couple of stops along the way Hill of Tara to see where the ancient Kings were crowned in Ireland. As luck would have it the leprachauns had whisked it away this morning so even tohugh there were occasional signs poinjting in it's direction the Legmobile could not locate it so the first picture you see here is the substitute....

Then on to Newgrange which is a passage burial tomb. This is a 1000 years older than Stonhenge and the Pyramids. It is an amazing structure but unfortunately we could only view it from a distance as the weather lead to the cancelling of all tours grrr. We did however get to enjoy the visitor's centre display and our first experience of irish hospitality. I ordered 2 soups and a cup of coffe but the lady was determnined for me to have tea when I said coffee she replied 'right 2 soups 1 coffee and 1 tea'. At that point I gave up and just had the coffe. Reminded us of the tealady in 'Father Ted' go on go on go on :-).

From her we headed straight on to Belfast via Tesco to replace all our liquids we had to leave in Edinburgh for the flight...shampoo, conditioner and washing liquid.

The hotel is really nice and the receptionist was friendly giving us maps and tips of where to go for food etc.

Off to find food soon then an early night to get ready for a big day tomorrow.
