It’s day 2, February 2:
We wake up with the sunshine. It’s now 25 c. on our balcony. It’s so wrong. It has to be wrong. We are people of snow, cold and ice. NA!!!!!!
We go for breakfast and a walk. Pierre and Johanne walked already. They are getting burn around the pool. We walked around and took elevator rides (the wrong way, the wrong floor) but finally we get back to our room. The bathing suits are on and up to the pool. We do not try to burn. There is 10 more days of this. Ah! the poor life.
Later we come back to our room to relax a bit (like we are now already a bit relaxed). I go around 4pm for a walk. Doreen naps. We then prepare for the Captain’s Welcome aboard reception. This is a formal night. So everyone is dressed like a night at the opera minus the opera of course. We are in the Safari club. One of those well decorated place  where you can dance and relax looking at the AFT (back of the ship). The captain received us but no hand shaking because of the flu. A photo with him and in we go.
One bit of advise: When you sit lower then a person who is standing in the back of you, is very excited and has a glass of champagne balancing on the banister, (you see that one coming don’t you), do wear a plastic bag over your good suit. If not well let’s say after the big spill she was very very sorry and you think lucky me it was not a coke. In the end people did not notice there was a smell of champagne on my coat and they looked at me with the sensation that my perfume was very rich.
After we went for supper with Pierre & Johanne. Our new friends from Ohio did get their special suitcase late the night before. Everyone looked very handsome.
I will see you soon.
P.S.: It was sunny all day and 27 c.
