Today we agreed to play the Amazing Race. Let me explain. Cathy gave us this trek to do in Myrtle Beach for our birthday presents. We have 7 envelopes to open and follow the instructions.
Tip: this is a fun thing to do with your family if you want. A bit of work but hey! what else you have to do.
We start toward Brookgreen gardens south of Myrtle beach. A very nice mix of gardens, flower, sculptures, animals and culture. We have some tasks to do.  Do what the sculptures do or find flowers she indicated. You have to understand that there is a lot of people there today. They invited  a lot of people from Georgetown hospitals with their kids. So we have to explain what we do to strangers. Also they had some cold (not really for Canadians) temperature lately and the flowers are not in great bloom. So we have to strain to see the flowers that suppose to be there. But we have a lovely time
Tip: take the time and enjoy a lovely day away from the beach with great volunteers who want to exchange about where they been (some of them form Canada). Also there is great history about rice plantation and slaves at this place. All in all a great day.
We ate a good pork sandwich. There is another restaurant there but that's what happen when you open the lunch envelop after you order lunch at the other restaurant.
Then it's to Broadway on the beach and Margaritaville. It is much bigger than the one we went to last year in Cozumel, Mexico (listen to me sounding like a big traveler). This shopping area is big and in the middle of two men made lakes. So because it is cool today (around 12c.) we need jackets to go around. A lot of shops and also places that sells show tickets and have a lot of deals.
Tip: Big companies offer you deals for show ticket if you are willing to hear the "shmuz" about how great Sheraton timeshare is. It's up to you. So far I said no.
We come back to Margaritaville to hear there is a 2 hours wait. We decide to open the next envelop and find out we have to do the shopping area again to find 5 gifts for $10. It is US money but come on, there is almost nothing under $2. But guess what ? we find things and the kids will receive all of our gifts with our $10 (US) (AH!! the love we will receive).
We decide to eat at New York Steak and Brew (it is homemade right on site like the 3 brasseurs in Montreal).  We will come back to Margaritaville on Monday.
We finish the night by looking at a firework display (5 min.). It's nice but remember we (Montreal) are the capital of Fireworks (30 min every week and sometimes twice a week in the summer).
Well we are back at the campground around 9 p.m.. Tired but enchanted of our day.
If you have kids who love you enough to do this for you (and give you money to do it) great for you.
Tip: No kids, try another game. It will spice your stay. You will have to pay for it but hey! you are here and you pay for the rest.
Look at a movie on cable with tea and dessert (the best end of day).
Tip: TBS, the best movies channel.
Well it is officially the end of the fist week even if we arrived only on Tuesday. Lots done, lots still to do.
Had a good time so far folks? I hope so.  Let's go for the second half.
