After the short rest in Bonn, the 2-hour trip started again.  This way was not as long as that in the morning.  Before arriving the city, the guide told us there were many many souvenir shops.  Many people bought German knives, steel soap, and perfume, even a kind of knife was named by China's former Prime Minister ZHU Rongji.  However, he also said many of them were fake so that he would not suggest us to buy them in any shop.  If needed, we could buy them beyond our judgment.

His words were true.  Around the famous Cologne Cathedral, lots of shops were.   And many of them had Chinese or Chinese speaking clerks.  Most of tourists went into the shops.  I and Eric also bought some knives as gifts for our friends in China.  Finally, I did not know if the knives were fake or not.  At least, the one I used works well now.

As you know, this was a 2-hour trip.  The group would be in Cologne only 2 hours, including lunch time.  And I had spent some time on shopping.  So the time left was quite limited.  For saving time, we decided to visit the most famous tourist attraction, Cologne Cathedral.

The cathedral was really huge.  Not as the church in France, it had two very tall towers with steeples.  It almost killed me to go to the top of the tower in 15 minutes.  The worst thing was when I went up into the bell room, there was no glass in the large windows and it was windy.  The strong wind coming from the windows made the iron handrails of the staircase extremely cold.  When I arrived at the top platform, I seldom felt my hands.

To taking photos from the platform was much harder than that from Paris Cathedral because it was not opened.  However, I still took some overview ones for the city.  After that, I ran down the tower to the basement to see the treasures of Cologne Archbishop.  The gold and jewelries were shining in the light.
