We spent the first night in Glennwood springs at the Hot Springs Lodge. I recommend staying there even though it's a bit more expensive than other motels in the area but you get to go to the hot springs for free both days you are there. Entry to the hot springs is $15 each totaling $60 and our one night stay at the hotel/motel was $130.
We met up with Rat & Remy the next day at the parking lot about a 1/4 mile from the Hanging Lake Trail. You won't believe how beautiful hanging lake is. Honest! I've been twice and i'm still amazed that we have something this beautiful in Colorado.

Colorado is pretty awesome in the summer.....there are tons of things to do. we always went in the winter for skiing but have not learned aspen best kept rental secret: the summers! We rented and luxury aspen rental home last summer with 5 bedrooms and that was just 3 blocks form town. check it out at www.MyAspenRental.com for more information. There is horseback riding, hiking, biking, golf, tennis, white water rafting and tons more. Aspen rentals are easy to come by..just reserve early. happy traveling
