Hi Everyone,
Well the clock on the journey is starting to wind down, tonight I am at the western entrance to Yellowstone Park in Gardiner, Montana. Tomorrow I am riding the Beartooth Hwy and Chief Joseph Scenic Hwy, I am stoked !!! I will be riding around ten of the highest peaks in the lower 48.
Today started from Lewiston, Idaho and up the Lewis and Clark Scenic Highway #12 and Lolo Pass. It is a great road and very long probably 100 plus miles but I have to say that is was a bit of a let down. The scenery was alpine and almost the whole road was sweeper type curves, nothing technical but a great scenic cruising road. I kept wishing the whole ride that I was on "Red" my Ducati, I think that a sportbike would flip the switch on this road and it would be a total blast, high speed suits the road more than technical switchback type riding. It was worth it and I am glad that I rode it but it's not up there in the to 20.
I came upon some interesting road construction, there was a rockslide and there were workers suspended from ropes prying the loose rock off of the mountainside, lasted 20 minutes or so but it was really interesting.
Did over 500 miles today and I am tired, so I will say Gnight again til tomorrow.
Godspeed
Mik
