We put in a VERY long day of driving yesterday, 900 plus miles and are safely home. The trip was uneventful for the most part. Drove through very heavy rains until we got to Kentucky. Ate lunch at the super scrumptious Waffle House which never fails to impress!
We didn't take the scenic route through Indiana this time, so went through Indianapolis which was as shocking as the rest of the state. Out of all the states we saw recently, the economy in Indiana is simply shocking and sad. Cliff was telling me how Indianapolis is completely under construction so that they can host the Super Bowl there. With all the expense of that, the state has had to cut back in every other area possible. Will be a sad mess if they don't get the superbowl there after all that work to pay for everything.
But, we are home, all the cats are good, the house sitters did an outstanding job for us and all is well.
Hope all enjoyed reading this, it was fun to write and will probably help us remember some details we would have forgotten if not for writing it down to share :)
