Lovely Best Western
I do believe Illinois should hold ranking title as the flattest state! I can easily say that in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin, I have not seen as much flat land with beans and corn! The interesting part of all the corn and beans is that they are already out combining the fields. Indiana was just about as boring until we reached Loogootee (towards the south). Once getting to the Indiana state line, Cliff did away with interstate travel and hit the back roads. WOW! Did that pay off once hitting Loogootee, it was beautiful scenery all the way to Kentucky. Lots of windy curvy roads (like home), but lots of rock lining the roads, and it seemed like the tree's were taller? That's what Cliff thought anyway!!
Louisville was a cool city, but realized how used I am to LaCrosse being a big city for me anymore. I was so not cool with getting through that city. Seemed pretty though, and lots of bridges!! The main bridge we took into Louis from the north was extra creepy, kind of NYC like, cuz it was a double decker...! Indiana bound got the top level, Kentucky bound (US) got the bottom level. YIKES!!!
We stopped here in Shelbyville for the night. Tomorrow will be the short drive to the Cumberland Gap area, and spend time exploring and taking in the sites tomorrow. We are going to leave West Virginia out of the plans so that we cut down some on car time.

Glad to hear you are having a good trip so far. The kids thought the truckstop was really cool! You will have to send more pics of that if you have some.
Have a safe trip! : )
Glad the kids liked them!! That is all we took while we were there, but Cliff take some more pics for them the next time he stops through!!
This is very interesting. Do you have a notebook or laptop? Adam loved Louisville this winter. We drove there to visit about 9 years ago. Did you get on the floor of the car when you went on the bridge?
It's a laptop. Lol, no.... I did not get on the floor of the car to get over the bridge. I just stared out at the river most of the time. I forgot Adam had been there for his stuff, looks like a nice city would like to see more of it!
