It's been great hearing from you all! It's always nice to get snippets of news from home, even if it's not always good...c'mon you Blues...How much longer must we wait???
I have so enjoyed Poland...so much to tell, and not enough time to write everything down, which I must, so I don't forget it...so much family history, which I'd like to pass onto Alex & Matty before my memory goes (more than it already has!).
Krakow was very interesting...lots of beautiful churches...my pictures don't do them justice...I just LOVE churches! I went on a tour of the State Rooms at Wawel Castle...OMG, can't begin to describe how magnificent they were...Followed that by a tour ("free" walking tour - 5 of us, including the guide) around the Jewish Quarter...VERY sobering, even though I had heard about it before..
Tea with family (sons of grandmother's cousin)...professors of anthropology and archaeology, and 2 psychologists! Very enjoyable!
An afternoon with my grandmother's youngest sister, Hanna, who is now 91 and ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE...lives in a unit on the 3rd floor, no lift, walks up and down stairs, no problem!!! Very with it and what a character...kept us well entertained for about 3 hours, telling me (and me telling Don the basic gist) all about her life as well as about the family... unbelievable...
OK, better upload some photos before Don returns and we have to get going again.
