This is out of order, but I could not legally post about my morning mountain hike and afternoon adventure without the photos to document it.  Yes, legally, because it would be unlawfully inadequate to try to explain without images to show you.

One night in late November began like many a night here in O Barco de Valdeorras--most likely with some wine at home, dinner at Al Natural with Rachael, Ashley, Deborah and amigos, then a shift to the bars and clubs where things start to get a little fuzzy, as usual, a parting of ways by many who do not remember when they left or who they told, a 4 or 5 am meet up with my friend Alexis after he got out of work, and dancing at Bik Bok, which usually indicates the end of the evening around 6:30am.  This particular morning, I went with Alexis and others to get breakfast.  This breakfast, being extremely disappointing (aka nothing like IHOP or South Street Diner, but more like a stupid piece of ham on a tiny crusty roll), left me wanting more adventures.  My new friends Roberto and Bruno listened to me for some reason and followed my commands to bring me to the top of a mountain!  It was grey in the pueblo, but as we rose into the hills and the sun began to come up, we emerged out of and above the fog that covered O Barco and the surrounding pueblos in a sea of rolling white waves.  We reached a chain that stopped the car from continuing up the mountain, but at my request, everyone got out of the car and climbed by foot, and sometimes crawled, up the rocky hillside toward the sun rays in order to get the best view of the valley possible.  I dragged the boys uphill for a while, despite complaints of dirt on their white sneakers, because I knew they enjoyed what I was forcing them into.  Or else they wouldn't have followed right?  Later they told me that they just thought I might die, but I still think they liked it.

After putting them through enough, the morning continued with 10:30am beers, a walk by the river, 12pm beers, and a walk through the park.  Good thing there's nothing to do here on Sundays because the delirium of being up all night and laughing soooo much all morning made me sleepy til Monday, if you can believe it.   Anyway, photos below show the view, the funny guys, and a a bit of the silliness that happened that day.
