With this last week being Thanksgiving and all, the holiday season is already here!  On Thanksgiving day, we made Amy's chocolate chip muffin mix, which we've been saving ever since we got here.  You can't get those kinds of things over here.  My classes made hand turkeys and wrote what they were thankful for on it.  It was so cute!  Then for the big feast, we went to Pizza Hut!  It is a very expensive, sit-down restaurant here so we've been holding out on it for Thanksgiving only!  It was 85 RMB for a 12-inch Hawaiian pizza (which is really only $11 or $12 but when you compare it to a plate of fried rice which is 5 RMB, it's a lot).  So we splurged...and it was worth every jiao (1 jiao = 1.5 pennies).
Of course, once Thanksgiving was over, we started playing Christmas music all the time!  It makes me so happy.  On Sunday night, we decided to decorate mine and Amy's room, considering that is the one that most of us are always in.  We made a paper chain, snowflakes, stockings, a nativity, and other fun stuff.  Then we lit a candle for advent and sang Christmas carols.
I'm just loving the holiday season.  I'm really glad that by the time I get home, I will just be swept up in everything so quickly that I won't really have time to think about how sad I am about leaving my kids.  They are the most adorable kids ever and I just want to bring them home in my suitcase.
Anyway, I should probably get going now...I have to teach soon.  I'm going to Nanjing this weekend, Guilin the next, and then sticking around in Hefei for my last weekend in China.  It's crazy how soon it will all be over but I'm loving every second of it.  Take care and I love you.

Meagan
