. We eventually decided to follow a lead which we received early in the morning (to an apartment with no airconditioning in an area, Veronetta, that shared the same name of our first disasterous apartment) and walked about 10 minutes outside of the city and ended up in a vibrant, diverse neighbor hood and when we made it to the apartment, we were greeted by one of the owners we rejected from an agency because the pictures looked crappy and they said there was no air conditioning. Well, this was the first apartment out of the Furore and Rome apartments that had a lift, and our apartment was brand new, open and super cute. On top of it - it was available that moment, and they put in an air conditioner for us. It has everything we could need and more than any apartment we've had and it's in perfect location and our cell phone and internet work here unlike living in the mountain side of Furore. Ahhhhhhh!!!!! Finally after 3 days, Damian's positive attitude about checking out this place led us to our new "home"! Now, all we have to do is take the bus back to our hotel, get our bags, move in, shower, get dressed and celebrate by listening to STEVIE WONDER free playing at the famous Arena (the only place in all of Italy he performed) on a gorgous night. Lucky for us things always seem to work out. Check out the videos on this one-you can hear Stevie sing!
So this is it. I refuse to spend another night in a hotel. Tonight's the night we end up in an apartment that's affordable with everything we're looking for and that's it! We woke up really early, scarfed our free breakfast, checked out of the hotel room, left our luggage at the front desk and hit the prima casa rental place RIGHT across the street. Try #1 - they don't do 1 month rentals, try the travel agency...try #2 shot down- they don't deal with apartment rentals...hmmmm not looking so good. So we started on foot, I looked up residences in Verona while sitting on a concrete bench along river in San Zeno and spoke to every (not an exaggeragion - EVERY apartment owner in all of verona-there are only about 85) in Italian and anywhere that had vacancy, we saw and everywhere that didn't we heard rejections from. Well, hours were passing and we stubled upon the Verona tourist center which had a listing of every apartment, residence and vacation rental and we started all over again calling and speaking to EVERYONE in Verona
