Okay after Amantani Island now we were going to Taquille island. I went to sit inside the boat because last time I was sitting close to the outside and it was cold. Anyway.. it was only about 20 minutes to go to Taquille island. Aldo said that the first 10 or 15 minutes were the hardest part. I took my time walking up to the plaza de armas because I wanted to enjoy the scenery and I stopped at this young girl stall to buy a one sole bracelet weaving. Taquille island was very beautiful. I was glad I took my time because the view is much better than the Amantani island. By the time I got to the plaza de armas, I went to the store where they sell all the weavings, textiles and ceramics. The price is fixed because it's a cooperative. Anyway, I ended up not buying anything and started to check around the other building. Most of the people went into small groups so this local guy asked me in english where I came from. Apparently he was a tour guide and I started to talk to him and asked him if he could take a picture of me. He then explained to me about the culture of the island. The men wears two kinds of hats. The white ones means they're single and looking while the red ones means they're untouchable or married for life. hehehe... the men also wear belts that tell about their lives and about their agriculture. It was interesting. Anyway, Aldo gathered us around and then we all went to eat to this restaurant. Inside the restaurant, Aldo asked us what we wanted to order. Most of us ordered trout with rice. Aldo also offered us what tea that we want. He said there were herbal mint tea, mate de coca, and explosive tea (a combination of both) hahahha.. I asked for mate de coca for my drink. During our lunch, the lady who sat in front of me turned out to be a San franciscan. cool!!! Her name was LJ, so we started to chat. The german guys, David, Stephen and Ping were all sitting at the same table. So we had fun while we ate our lunch. I still getting a bit dizzy and lost my appetite so it was hard for me to even finish the lunch. After the lunch, Aldo then basically expxlained to the rest of the group what the other tour guide told me. He then said something like chips?. I asked Stephen who sat next to me and asked chips? Stephen said sheeps. Hahahhaha... well I couldn't laugh out loud so I just managed to just smiled and tried very hard not to burst out laughing whenever I heard Aldo says chips/sheeps. After lunch, we then walked descending these 500 steps into the port and I got LJ to walk with me and we started to chat around about where she was going and where to eat in San Francisco.. so.. it was nice. By the time we got to the port, I sat at the same place where I've left my backpack. It turned out that LJ sat in front of me so I asked her for her email address so that we could have lunch sometimes. David asked me if he could sit next to me because it was getting a bit cold outside. So we had a chat. I actually forgot his name hahahha...but I thanked him for helping me in Uros island and asked him where he learned his spanish because it was so fluently spoken, He said he learned it in Spain, duh!! He had some problems sitting next to me because he is so tall. Well the seat basically was not designed for people with long legs. He said that he had started traveling from Venezuela and he was going north. He told me that most of the souvenirs were cheaper in the bolivian side. Yeah.. I wasn't going to Bolivia. Aldo came around asking us to write down our name, age and nationality. My brain wasn't working, so I put down my job instead of my nationality. Golly, it was a stupid of me!! and probably I was nervous as well hehehehe.. we didn't exchange any info or anything like that so basically I just said that it was nice to meet him and said our good bye then. By the time we landed on the port, I asked Ping and Stephen if we could all have dinner together in Puno for our last night. Ping said she would give me a call since she knew where my hotel was. Cool!! Before I could ask her for more details, it was hailing. so crazy it was heavily hailing!!! Aldo told me to get into this car that would take me to the hotel so I didn't get any chance to talk to Ping, Stephen and LJ. By the time I got into my hotel, it was so nice! I missed my hotel hahahahaha... Ping gave me a call that we could all have dinner at 730 pm and they would pick me up at the entrance. Oh it was so nice! So I went downstairs and had a chat with the receptionist which I always do while waiting for them. They showed up and it was such a nice feeling to see them again. We went to this place, forgot the name to had dinner. LJ didn't come because she had pizza. Both Stephen and Ping bought a ticket to go to Cuzco for tomorrow morning which was the same direction that I was going. We had fun during our dinner. gotta talk so many things, Ping had cuy while Stephen and I had more normal beef dinner stuff. After dinner, we went back to our place and said our goodbye before I realized that I hadn't got a chance to get their contacts shoot!!!
