After breakfast Brian and I took a long walk through Alveston and Tiddington. So many old buildings with varying brick patterns, thatched cottages, and the river Avon.
Then back to the house and Iris joined us for a trip to Stratford. The Royal Shakespeare Center, Shakespear's house, Shakespear's school, Shakespeare's daughter's house. Ancient buildings, school children, swans, pubs visited after the play by the actors, and a coffee shop with wifi. Played tourist today! Just have to see the pictures.
The grandest building was Holy Trinity Church. This is where William was baptized and buried. The windows, the organ, the misericords, the chancel - just amazing!
Back home for a another delicious meal and then out to a local community theatre production. We saw "The Ideal Husband" by Oscar Wilde. Except this one had several of the monologs put to Puchini arias. The acting was quite good, I enjoyed that. But although the ladies hit the correct notes, they just didn't quite produce the best sound. Too strained. The one man who sang was excellent.
Now after a small glass of port I am off to dreamland. Hoping to find a wifi tomorrow to get this sent!
