Where I stayed
I have no idea!
I have no idea if it was a coincidence or if I was being followed but it somehow happened that Sujeet a local guy I met in Varanasi the previous time always seemed to end up in the same places that I did.
Upon arriving in Delhi who do I bump into? Well I had tried to get to Haridwar but I couldn't get accommodation so decided I would ride out the last few days I had in Delhi.
So when I met Sujeet and he suggested I join him on a trip to Dharamsala as he thought I would like it I decided the option of travelling with an Indian would make an interesting story.
We took some cheap dodgy nightbus to the mountains we stopped in the most hideous places including a place called Majnu ka Tilla, which is meant to be a beautiful tibetan colony but looked more like a rubbish dump, this was followed by another stop at 5am on the roadside where Indians paid 5 rupees for Chai and I paid 10 rupees....how is this fair? I'm unemployed and been ripped off hard by a Kashmiri so I didn't have much money either!
The bus driver was pretty reckless and there was no air con so I had no sleep and often looked out the window only to wish I hadn't because we were driving through the mountains at 100mph in some clapped out old bus.
We arrived at 7am and I headed straight to my hotel room which appeared to be 700Rs cheaper than what I had been paying this was obviously due to the fact that I was travelling with an Indian.
