Blind - whether walking with your eyes closed and hearing a voice to guide you or not being able to see or talk but through physical touch being maneuvered around obstacles....trust was the theme of our morning. Agnes started us out with a fun ice-breaker game of "I Have Never"....I lost in the 2nd round because I had been to Africa, played the cello, taken music lessons, been to Beijing, had my ears pierced, and a few more I have since forgotten. Oh well, 10 gummy bears were worth it.
It was interesting observing the trust walk afterward and hearing what types of reflections and applications came from it. I learned a lot about people's personalities and need to be led or lead, communication styles, etc. I wish now I had recorded our discussion.
The afternoon involved more curriculum meetings and calls with the travel agent to resolve the India ticket situation.
My evening was enjoyable when Stephanie and I took a walk down the street to a local fishing village. We wandered the narrow back alleys enjoying the fresh aromas of the sea as we walked by spread nets to dry. We stopped to talk to shop owners, old ladies, families, and smile at teenagers. A dog and cat
wrestling really caught our eye.
As it got darker there were awesome sunsets, and scenes of old wooden boats
rocking against the lapping waves...but unfortunately my camera sucks at recording night shots.
Looking forward to returning during the day.
