Trip End
Ongoing
(Technically I am writing this on August 18th but that is cause I had no access to a blog site til I found this one.)
My last 10 days in the Big Apple
were crazy with
goodbye parties
birthday parties
dinners,
friends in town, and of course stress over packing (too stressed didn't think to take pictures)
Shout-outs to:
Judes - for helping move some boxes and cleaning up the torando of a mess I left and making me laugh till I cried with our dancing video
Ilyse - for taking all the boxes and being willing to store stuff while I'm in China.
Stella and Suzy for helping the worst procrastinator pull an all-nighter and repack my crap into 4 suitcases and 8 boxes instead of 6 and 20.
Victor - for taking camping equipment and dropping off a load of towels for the cabin and treating to some dang good steaks at the Porter House
Jae - well, for everything. last fun Friday in Brooklyn , running me around to get my cello fixed, storing it his climate-controlled storage unit, and most importantly driving me to the airport and coming running when he "heard" I couldn't make my flight (when it was just my flute I couldn't make fit in my suitcase; helping me repack and get the 80 pounds down to the acceptable 70 and ensuring I actually got through security.
Robin - for his texts and voicemails helping Jae pass on which gate had no people in line and wishing me a safe flight -being the first friendly voice I heard after landing in China as we taxied into the gate thus letting me know I had cell reception in Beijing when I thought I wouldnt' with my N.A. phone.
Jer -
for hosting my last Indian dinner and game night
Greg - for all his fabulous ideas for parties and goodbye dinners
JT - for 2 great last messages to remind me why I love Origins so much and will miss it terribly
Jon - for throwing a fabulous goodbye dumpling party (OK so technically this was more than 10 days of my departure but that is only because a certain someone would be in Boston and be missing all the weekend's festivities
My awesome life group for loving me, encouraging me, praying for me, and sending me off feeling empowered knowing there is a caring family I have left behind that will always be there whenever I need them.
