Hi everyone!
We arrived in the Duesseldorf airport around 7 this morning, which of course felt like midnight. My mom and I had talked on the plane about not sleeping until tonight so we could say we'd been up for 30 hours straight. We didnt make 24 hours. Jo (Amelie's dad) and Kevin greeted us at the airport and Annette (Amelie's mom) was waiting at home.

I almost forgot about the plane ride here! On the plane from Wichita to Atlanta we were with at least 5 sports media people going to the WSU game in Florida. I recognized Allan Shope and Bob Lutz and we saw some channel 3 camera guys as well. In the airport in Atlanta we spent some time looking at the "buyer beware" displays. When people buy illegal souvenirs from places like Africa (ie tusks, alligator boots, etc) they confiscate them and put them in these exhibits. So don't try to sneak a stuffed crocodile baby in through customs.

Back to Germany. We talked with Jo and Annette for a bit before Annette had to leave for work. I went to sleep soon after this and found out when I woke up that Jo had taken Kevin to Amelie's school on his way back to work. I found my dad and Teresa(Amelie's sister) watching German "street charts" on TV. The host was going around asking people on the street what they should show. The number one was, of course, Justin T and Madonna with the song 4 minutes. I had never seen the video nor heard the song before.

After Amelie came home and we did all the hugging. We had  a lunch of chili and rolls before walking to Amelie's vaulting practice. It was really exciting to see her coach go get the horse and warm it up and then to see them actually doing the tricks on the horse. On our way back to the house Jo took us down Frankenstrasse (which I have yet to pronounce correctly) and showed us the shops. They probably have as many stores on that street as we have in all of Newton.

I fell asleep, again, and was woken up for supper. We had sandwiches with various kinds of meat including liverwurst, pistachio flavored bologna, mushroom flavored bologna, and something with cheese around the edges. Now I'm stuffed and really ready to sleep!

Happy 21st Melody!!!

Hey
Sounds like you guys had an awsome first day. I so wish I could be there!

Last night we had a party for my mom. We had a few families over and ate icecream cake. It was really good!

Yesterday evening their were some pretty big storms around here. Hutch had some hail, we just had really strong wind and rain. I put the dogs in the kennel for the evening/night. The dogs are doing fine so far, seth has taken charge of giving Josie her pill.

I'm posting this before I leave to be homeless. We leave in an hour and I'm getting really nervous! It was so hard to pack because I know I'm not going to get to keep any it. I will be sure and leave you a comment on the weekend, before heading to music camp on monday!

Keep having fun!
