Day 9: Inca trail and Macchu Picchu

This morning I had a good sleep in, I called home and chatted to a few friends which was really great. I started to miss home a little. This morning Eileen, Manuel and I did a hike amongst the local ruins in the area, we got a little lost but it was awesome. We had a chilled lunch and the caught the train to Macchu Picchu. The train is really awesome, it runs along this beautiful river that has the most incrediable rapids and rocks, with awesome green mountains in the back ground. We got to the town of Macchu Picchu. For those reading this who have no idea, like I did, what Macchu Picchu is, its basically some of the oldest biggest ancient Inca ruins, nested in the middle of the mountains. When you are there, it is truelly incrediable. Now most people will either do a 4 or 1 day hike, come through the Sun gate and into the site, Macchu Picchu. The rest of the group did the hike, their passes were accepted, and the ended in MAcchu Picchu. We joined the rest of the team who did the hike in the nearby tourist town. It sounded like it was awesome. We just had a few drinks, had awesome nachos and gaucamole, or avo dip, played jenga and just chilled. We had a fantastic dinner, however, everyone was exhausted. Next morning I had to be up at 4am, as those who didn't do the Inca trail had the option to get up early and be first at the ruins, and walk half way up to the Sun gate, so kind of doing the last hour of the Inca trail in reverse.
