Inspired by the Tour de France, Molly and I decided to spend yesterday taking a bike tour of the city. We hopped on bikes, complete with built on squeeky toys and a bell, with a handful of other tourists and prepared ourselves for the 6 mile trek...over 4-5 hours of course. Our guide was from Australia and the tour itself was how we all wish history classes would have been taught: "Then the Frenchies rocked on over..." and "Then Hitler said to the Swedes, 'Hey Mates come build us this monument.'" Throughout the day we saw such cheery points of interest as Hitler's Bunker where he killed himself and Eva Brown, the Berlin Wall, Check Point Charlie, a death tower, where Michael Jackson held his baby over the balcony, Katarina Witt's apartment, etc. Half way through the day we stopped at a beer garden for a bit for food and beer...not because the riding was so strenous, just because we could.

Later, after the tour and another fantastic burrito from our favorite burrito place, we all met up again...and oddly enough everyone had the name Chris... at the bike tour place for a pub crawl. If spending the day together wasn't enough fun we had the night to make up the difference. We spent the first hour drinking beer at the shop and then made our way to four or five bars close by. There are absolutely no liquor bans in the city so our trusty guide, Sergio, kept us well hydrated with shots in between bar stops. Molly and I didn't last long enough to make it to the dance club which was a blessing in disguise, but Molly was able to have a lengthy math discussion with Juno who claimed, "Math is a beautiful thing. We had an ambitious tourist schedule planned for today that in all reality would require us to be up and ready to go by 6am but unfortunately were in no shape to get out of bed until at least 3. If we would have stayed out any longer I fear we still might be asleep.

And that's all she wrote in Berlin. Off to Prague tomorrow!
